| DiscoveryBioMed, Inc. (DBM) is an emerging human cell-based drug discovery company. DBM is finishing its 3rd year of operation. DBM's mission is to 'integrate human cell physiology with drug discovery.' DBM is a 'services' and 'R&D' company. The company performs custom cell culture and engineering as a 'service' for commercial and academic markets. DBM specializes in immortal or primary tissue culture for human and transgenic mouse cells. DBM has a novel cell immortalization system for this specialized work. DBM also performs cell-based HTS drug discovery as a 'service' for the same markets including: assay optimization, pilot and large-scale drug discovery, and cell-based validation assays for existing leads to assess safety, toxicity, efficacy and mechanism of action. DBM uses the same principals and infrastructure described above for its own R&D platforms and programs. Its novel immortal and primary human cell systems are the key ingredient for our R&D programs in respiratory, renal, metabolic and hyperproliferative disease umbrellas. Its R&D mission is to accelerate therapeutics discovery by utilizing in vitro human cell models that maintain in vivo-like or 'life-like' properties of human normal or diseased tissue. Said another way, the end drug will be administered to a human patient so why not screen candidate small molecules on a relevant human cell platform from Day 1?"
