Implementing an electronic health record is challenging for any healthcare organization and bringing physicians on board with a change of this magnitude can be particularly challenging. Legacy Health, a five-hospital system in Portland, Oregon recently completed an enterprise-wide implementation and Lisa Goren, was responsible for physician activation readiness and engagement.
During this webinar, Lisa will describe key strategies and potential barriers for engaging both employed and affiliated physicians in the planning and launch of an enterprise-wide EHR activation. Participants will learn how to assemble a change management plan, create tailored physician support models and strategic communication approaches that will work in an organization of any size.
The results of Legacy's change management/engagement plan can be linked to several measurable success factors including,
- Above national average CPOM rates
- Staff and physician training rates prior to each site implementation
- Staff and physician super user education and confidence
- Appropriate use of implementation support structures
- Decrease of severity and quantity of issues over time
